Dr. Shilpa Krishnan is a forensic psychologist located in the metro Washington, DC area. She received her Master’s in Forensic Psychology from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice and her Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology from George Mason University. She completed her internship training at the NYU School of Medicine/Bellevue Hospital in the Forensic Track and her postdoctoral fellowship in the Forensic Track at Saint Elizabeths Hospital. She is appointed faculty in both the Psychology and Psychiatry training programs within the DC Department of Behavioral Health/Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital. Dr. Krishnan’s clinical and research interests include violence risk assessment, evaluation and treatment of sexual offenders, and criminal and civil forensic evaluation. She has worked in the public and private sectors within forensic psychiatric, jail/prison, and hospitalsettings. She has also provided expert witness testimony in multiple jurisdictions and has presented at national and international conferences.
